They all get along surprisingly well.

Birds

Here are some Birds of Paradise performing courtship displays in a rainforest in Papua New Guinea.
You'll see the Superb Bird of Paradise (photo above) at the end of the clip.
Also narrated by David Attenborough, here are some Japanese crows using traffic to crack nuts.
I'm not sure what's what with this strange mynah-type bird, but it never stops talking.

Saudi religious police ban dog and cat sales
Saudi Arabia's religious police, normally tasked with chiding women to cover themselves and ensuring men attend mosque prayers, are turning to a new target: cats and dogs.
The police have issued a decree banning the sale of the pets, seen as a sign of Western influence.
The prohibition on dogs may be less of a surprise, since conservative Muslims despise dogs as unclean. But the cat ban befuddled many, since Islamic tradition holds that the Prophet Muhammad loved cats — and even let a cat drink from his ablutions water before washing himself for prayers.
The religious police, known as the Muttawa, have the role of enforcing Saudi Arabia's strict Islamic code. Its members prowl streets and malls, ensuring unmarried men and women do not mix, confronting women they feel are not properly covered or urging men to go to prayers.

Arrest threat over police gnome
Police have taken a dim view of a man's glowing garden gnome and threatened him with arrest unless he removes it.
The solar-powered policeman figure stands sentinel in the garden of Gordon MacKillop's home in Treovis, near Liskeard.
His neighbour, former policeman John McLean, says the gnome is annoying and upsets buyers viewing his home.

Now police have served Mr MacKillop with a notice for "placing a garden gnome with intent to cause harassment".
Mr MacKillop, 46, was woken in the night by two officers who warned him that the gnome was offensive to his neighbours. He said, "When you hear a knock at the door at quarter to midnight you don't expect to be served with that.
"I was absolutely fuming. I thought there had been an accident in the family."
Mr MacKillop said he bought the gnome to deter criminals, after his motorcycle was stolen from his drive.
"It just happened that it had a police uniform on," he said.

Trio Accused of Gunpoint Prayer Session
A woman and two roommates are accused of holding her brother at gunpoint as she prayed for his repentance, even firing a shot into the ceiling to keep his attention.
Randy Doss, 46, of Athens said he fled the house when his captors got distracted and later went to police, who were skeptical at first because his story was so bizarre. But police said it checked out, including the bullet hole in the ceiling.
Police said the sister, Tammie Lee Doss, 43, Donna Leigh Bianca, 37, and Ronald David Richie, 45, who live at the Athens house, were charged with unlawful imprisonment, a misdemeanor. The two women were also charged with menacing, a misdemeanor. All were released on bond.

World's Tallest Living Thing Discovered
Two amateur California naturalists have found what they report is the world's tallest living thing.
It's a redwood in Redwood National Park on the Northern California coast.
The redwood tree, named Hyperion, stands 378.1 feet tall, 8 feet taller than the previous record holder, another coast redwood.
Officials aren't pinpointing the exact location of the trees, out of concern too many visitors could damage the delicate ecology of the areas.

Shock tactics on street cleaning
Regular street sweeping in an East Lothian town has been suspended in an attempt to shock residents into not dropping litter.
Rubbish will be allowed to build up in Tranent town centre for a week.
The council said it intended to roll the initiative out across its other main towns and to "draw on community spirit to beat the menace of litter".
It said it was an innoative way of getting the message over to the public about the scale of street littering.
The council's principal amenity officer Stuart Pryde said: "I think it will go one of two ways."

Police chief quits over nude photos wife put on Web
The police chief, the mayor and a councilman in Snyder resigned Friday amid an uproar over nude photos of the chief's 300-pound, tattooed wife that she posted on an adult Web site.
Dozens of residents of the town of 1,500 in southwestern Oklahoma had demanded Police Chief Tod Ozmun resign, and the district attorney recommended an obscenity investigation, but the City Council decided last week that the pictures were protected by the First Amendment.

On Friday, Ozmun, Mayor Dale Moore and Councilman Clifford Barnard said they were stepping down because they were fed up with the public attention and criticism of the chief. Another council member resigned earlier over the council's support of Ozmun.
Ozmun's wife, Doris, 43, said that she was removing the photos from the Internet, and they appeared to have been taken down Friday.
The police chief said he has had long discussions with his wife about the photos but does not tell her what to do.
"My wife is 6-foot-3 and weighs 300 pounds," said Ozmun, who became chief in January 2005. "If there is somebody that thinks they can control her, have at it. I have tried for 11 years and haven't been able to."

Man fed up with sex moans
A karate black belt assaulted his girlfriend because she would not stop pleasuring herself.
Ross Young, 27, got fed up listening to beauty therapist Laura Woodward “groaning” upstairs in bed — so he tipped her out and throttled her.
The electrician told Gloucester Magistrates he had a “problem” with her using her rubber sex toy while he was at their house in Cheltenham.
He was convicted of assault.

Postman sent dog dirt to police
A postman sent parcels of dog excrement to Avon and Somerset police in a row over a damaged umbrella stand.
Franco Ippolito, 54, began the campaign claiming officers damaged the stand in a search of his home in Southville.
When he was refused compensation he sent parcels to the officers involved.
The packages were opened by civilian staff, who were "upset" by the stinking contents.
"One that came to the CID office sat on the admin desk for a while because the officer it was addressed to was on annual leave. It got gradually smellier so it was decided to open it."

Parking ticket PC arrests traffic warden
A council is protesting to the Metropolitan Police after one its traffic wardens was arrested after he ticketed an officer's car.
The situation reportedly turned ugly after the off-duty policeman saw the warden putting an £80 ticket on his car, which was parked with two wheels on the pavement in Upminster, Essex.
According to neighbours, words were exchanged before the policeman dashed into his house, put on his uniform and called for back-up.
Then, when two colleagues arrived in a patrol car, he went back outside and arrested the warden on suspicion of using threatening and abusive behaviour. Now, Havering council has asked the Met to investigate the arrest.
A council spokesman said: "The council is very concerned about the arrest of its officer."
