His wife Abigail, aged 27, was also dealt with under the Proceeds of Crime Act and as a result she received a community order requiring her to undertake 180 hours of unpaid work. The pair were arrested following a police raid at their then home in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, on 13 October 2011.

Officers seized around a kilogram of amphetamines from bags, and tubs found in the kitchen and a Mercedes car parked on the driveway. This was estimated to equate to 1,000 individual deals with a combined street value of £3,550. Scales featuring traces of the same drug, as well as £1,991 cash, was also seized. Further enquiries into the couple’s lifestyle found unaccounted cash deposits over a five-year period into Abigail’s bank account.
They totalled £78,284, despite Daniel being unemployed since 2008 and Abigail receiving benefits to supplement her earnings as a chip shop assistant. As a result, property worth £16,509 was seized from the address, including televisions, a stereo and speakers, a laptop, mobile phones, iPods, satellite navigation units, a camera, clothing and other electrical items. The couple’s Mitsubishi, Mercedes and Renault Clio cars were also seized.
