Dog helps keep neighbourhood clean

Isabella is a 4-year-old rottweiler that doesn't like litter.

The 65-pound canine picks up discarded water and pop bottles as she walks around Livonia with her owner, Jan Larion. She's a dog with a job; she likes to have a purpose,” said Larion, 53.

Isabella, or Izzie, has been picking up bottles for about three years. She picks up so many on each walk, carrying up to three in her mouth at a time, that Larion bought her a backpack to carry them all in. Her record for one walk was seven.

“Bottles are her mission; she scours for them,” Larion said.

Isabella was a nice dog, and I think he was trained very well by the owner. Izzie must given an award for one of the industrious dogs in the town. You can rarely see a dog trying to pick up those used plastic bottles on the way.

If only you could train a dog to pick up their own poop. Then they'd be the perfect pet!

Finally a justification for using plastic water bottles!

My dog does the same thing. Her slight modification is that she chews up the plastic bottle and leaves it.
So I guess, maybe its not the same thing at all...
