Brothers dispute over missing macaroni cheese and spilled beer ended with stabbing

A fight over missing macaroni cheese and spilled beer ended with a stabbing in Deltona, Florida, this week.

Randy Zipperer, 49, was arrested on charges of aggravated battery and obstructing an officer without violence after he allegedly stabbed his brother on Tuesday, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said. His brother, Edward Zipperer, 47, had a small puncture and cut on his abdomen. Deltona Fire Rescue treated him on the scene and he didn't want to go to the hospital.

The brothers live together and a witness told deputies the older sibling regularly pulls out knives during arguments. In this case, the witness said, Randy Zipperer became upset because he could not locate his macaroni cheese and when his younger brother tried to help, Edward Zipperer accidentally spilled his other brother's beer.

The elder brother got a knife from the kitchen and began swinging it at his younger brother sometime before 10pm. Deputies discovered blood in the house and found a six-inch kitchen knife with what looked like dried blood on the tip. Randy Zipperer apologized after deputies arrived. He said he accidentally "poked him a little with the knife."
