Donald Trump's golf course named 'best in the world' by group with close links to Donald Trump

Donald Trump's controversial Scottish golf course has been named the best in the world  – by a travel body where he is “ambassador extraordinaire”.

The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences handed their Six Star Diamond Award to the Menie Estate links in Aberdeenshire. Trump is a trustee of the academy.

Trump Organization chief operating officer Matt Calamari is also a trustee. And Trump’s son’s Donald Jnr and Eric are honorary trustees.

Coincidentally, the Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey won the award three years running. Trump said: “This is a real surprise – I’m honoured.”

Meanwhile his sons will probably kill another elephant or other wild animal to celebrate.
