21-year-old woman posing as boy arrested for having sexual contact with 15-year-old girl

A 21-year-old woman has been arrested for having sexual contact with a teenage girl. York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office deputies, responding to a call that someone heard a person in distress, arrived at a wooded area near the near Hampton, Virginia, at around 12:45pm on Monday.

Deputies found two people who identified themselves as a boy and girl, both 15 years old. The two had consensual sexual contact on several occasions. The 15-year-old boy, who gave the name Seth Walker to police, turned out to be a 21-year-old woman named Stephanie Marie Griffith.

Griffith, whose last known address is on Clover Street in Hampton, has been charged with seven counts of sexual battery, crimes against nature and one count of piercing a minor. The noises of distress a passerby overheard turned out to be the sounds of the 15-year-old girl who had consented to have Griffith pierce her belly button, said Lt. Dennis Ivey, spokesperson for YPSO.

“A good observant citizen heard those sounds, thought it sounded suspicious, and that’s what broke the case. We’re very appreciative of the alert citizens who help us out,” Ivey said. The investigation later revealed the sexual relationship of Griffith and the girl, Ivey said. Deputies believe the girl knew Griffith’s gender, but not her age. The two met at a public place in the county during mid-summer, Ivey said.
