High court orders alleged molester to supply room freshener to school for blind children

A perfume manufacturer in India was on Tuesday directed by the Delhi high court to supply room freshener to a school for blind children in order to get a First Information Report quashed against him for allegedly molesting his former woman employee.

The court passed the order after the businessman tendered an apology in writing before it and said the parties had settled the dispute out of court. Justice Hima Kohli quashed the FIR against the Gurgaon resident for allegedly molesting the woman after illegally entering her house and directed him to supply the products to the school as per its requirement for one year.
 


The court also imposed on him a Rs 2 lakh (£2,000, $3,200) fine and directed him to deposit the amount in favour of the Delhi High Court Lawyers Library and Delhi Police Welfare Society. According to the victim's complaint, she had worked in the Gurgaon firm since December 2012 and left the office in March 2013 due to his inappropriate conduct towards her.

The victim contended that on June 29, 2013, the man had entered her house when she was alone and molested her. The accused had also tried to disrobe her and threatened her with dire consequences when she had resisted. Appearing for Delhi Police, Public Prosecutor Naveen Sharma submitted the accused had attempted to rape the woman but she escaped with the help of her neighbours.
