Naked man guilty of attacking police officer with medieval-looking weapon

A man from St. James, Missouri, has been convicted of using a medieval-looking replica weapon with spikes on it to attack a police officer and a woman.

Scott M. Davis, Jr. 23, was convicted of several charges by a St. Charles County Circuit Court jury on Friday. The jury recommended a sentence of 10 years on assault first degree, five years on armed criminal action, and 15 years on assault first degree on a law enforcement officer.

Davis is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 4. A judge will determine whether to follow the jury's sentencing recommendation. O'Fallon Police Officer Thomas Kenyon responded to a call at the Pin Oak Parc subdivision just after 2am on April 18, 2012, for a report of an "out of control" naked man. The caller told police that Davis was his son and Davis and two others had been using LSD.

Davis was in the middle of the street naked when police arrived. He is accused of hitting the officer and a woman with a medieval-looking replica weapon with spikes on it. He struggled with the officer and got the handle of the officer's Taser and hit the officer with it. He also bit the officer in the face. During the struggle, Kenyon shot Davis in the leg and arm.
