Adam the dog is allergic to people
Some people are allergic to dogs, but one special dog is allergic to people.
Robin Herman said she and her small staff at the Lucky Dog Retreat Rescue in Indianapolis had never heard of a dog with such a unique condition before.
When a black lab named Adam came across her desk, she was ready to help.
"I saw his picture on the rescue list and it was heartbreaking, so I said, 'Sure, we will take him,'" she said.
"We feed him the best food possible, got him flea free, gave him baths twice a week, special baths from the vet," she said. Little by little, Adam started looking better but not progressing as well as Herman had hoped. "We still couldn't figure out what was wrong, so we took him in for a blood test," she said. The test revealed he had allergies but the source was something Herman couldn't believe.
"Humans? I thought (the veterinarian) was kidding", she said. "Just like we can be allergic to dogs, he's allergic to human dander," Herman said. While many people may have written Adam off, Herman said she still just sees a puppy in need of help. "He's smart, he learns, knows a bunch of commands, he's a great dog.

"It's not his fault. We raised as much money as we can and we're not going to stop until he's better," she said. Thanks to the diagnosis, that day may be coming soon. Herman has high hopes for the next treatment. "The vet seems to think we can fix him. They put a serum together just like with kids allergies, and he starts on allergy shots this week," Herman said.

Potty-mouthed man who attacked neighbour who'd let him use toilet suffered retaliation injury
A Florida man who let his locked-out neighbour use his bathroom was repaid by being threatened and attacked with a crowbar, according to a sheriff’s report.
Norman Newkirk was badly in need of a bathroom at about 7pm on Friday, but found he had locked himself out of his New Smyrna Beach apartment.
The 50-year-old went to his neighbour who agreed to let Newkirk use his bathroom. It is not clear what sparked what came next. Neighbour Howard Williams told Volusia County sheriff’s investigators that shortly after he allowed Newkirk to use the toilet, he heard Newkirk yelling from the bathroom that he would “smear (expletive)” all over Williams, the report states.
Newkirk came out into the living room, got into Williams’ face and punched him in the nose, deputies said. Newkirk then grabbed a crowbar and threatened to hit Williams. As Williams, 59, tried to grab a wooden club to defend himself, Newkirk struck him in the back with the crowbar, deputies said. Williams then hit Newkirk in the head several times with the wooden club.
A drunken Newkirk said he was upset that he had locked himself out of his apartment. Along with the 12 stitches Newkirk needed to have his head patched, he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery. After being cleared from Bert Fish Medical Center, Newkirk was taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail sporting a bandage on his head. He is being held on $5,500 bail.

Man seeking damages after waking up from colonoscopy exam wearing pink panties
A Delaware man woke up after a colonoscopy wearing pink women's underwear, placed on his body while he was under sedation, he claims in court.
Andrew Walls, of Magnolia, says he was not wearing pink women's underwear when he presented himself for a colonoscopy at the Delaware Surgery Center in Dover on Oct. 12, 2012.
The complaint filed on Friday in New Castle County Superior Court names the center as a defendant along with Eden Hill Surgical Group.
Walls says he "was placed under anesthesia" to facilitate the procedure. "When the plaintiff recovered from the effects of the anesthesia administered by defendants, he awoke to realize that while he was unconscious pink women's underwear had been placed on his body." Walls adds that "at no time did [he] voluntarily, knowingly, or intentionally place the pink women's underwear upon himself." "Defendants' extreme and outrageous conduct went beyond all possible bounds of decency," the lawsuit later states.
In addition to experiencing "shame, embarrassment and personal humiliation" because of "the inappropriate undergarment," Walls says "severe emotional distress" caused him to lose his job. Walls blames the "extreme and outrageous conduct" of defendants for his troubles, saying they failed "to maintain proper policies and procedures for the care of patients with respect to not engaging in extreme and outrageous conduct which caused the plaintiff severe emotional distress."
Though Jennifer Anderson, the director of Delaware Surgery Center LLC, ultimately declined to comment in an interview, she first gave some possible context to the suit. "Andrew D. Walls was an employee," Anderson said. "We have not seen the complaint yet." Anderson would not comment on whether Walls was the victim of a practical joke, given his apparent employment by Delaware Surgery Center. The complaint seeks punitive damages for negligent and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Couple hospitalised after getting stuck together during amorous encounter in the sea
An Italian couple ended up in hospital after getting stuck together while having sex in the sea.
The amorous couple were making the most of a warm day, and a practically deserted beach, when they decided to take a dip in the ocean at Porto San Giorgio to express their love.
But their lovemaking came to an embarrassing end when the man was unable to extricate himself from the woman due to suction. They remained in the water until they caught the attention of a woman walking along the beach, who gave them a towel after they struggled back to the shore.
A doctor was called and they were taken to a hospital emergency room. There the woman was given an injection usually used to dilate the uterus of pregnant women, in order to untangle the couple.

Hospital left human teeth embedded in man's leg following iPad trampoline incident
A man who had his best friend's teeth embedded in his leg in an accident on a trampoline is suing a hospital for failing to remove them.
Daniel Rigby, of Pollards Hill, south London, has suffered debilitating knee swelling since the incident in March following which he says Croydon University Hospital failed to fully remove the three teeth which have caused the infection.
The 29-year-old was lying on his trampoline on FaceTime on his iPad at about 10am, when best friend, Peter Walsh, who had been drinking, came over to join him.
Mr Rigby said: "He jumped on and tried to kick me, I pulled his leg away and his face smashed into my knee and then he blacked out. He was probably out for a couple of minutes. He was face down and I saw blood coming out of his mouth so I thought it was quite bad. I tried to stand up and then collapsed because of my leg." After his friend came-to he managed to drag them both into a cab which rushed them to Accident and Emergency at Croydon University Hospital. He said: "When I got to hospital the doctor took me into a cubicle and I said to him, there's still teeth in my leg.
"He took me off to x-ray and he said there's only a bit of bone cartilage, nothing to worry about. They gave me two stitches and sent me on my way." Afterwards the men went to Mr Walsh's house where his nan inspected the knee and said she thought it was infected and he should return to hospital straight away. The next day Mr Rigby went to A&E at St George's Hospital in Tooting, where doctors opened the wound and cleaned out parts of the teeth. Mr Rigby, who now feels insecure wearing shorts and going swimming, has employed a solicitor to file a negligence claim against the hospital for failing to spot that parts of the teeth remained in his leg.
A Croydon Health Services NHS Trust spokesman said: "We cannot comment in detail on individual cases due to patient confidentiality. Patients in our care are advised to contact us again after treatment if their condition persists or worsens. We would encourage Mr Rigby to contact us if he has any concerns about his care." Mr Rigby, who works as a scaffolder and will soon be a father, thinks the injury will have an impact on his future career. He said: "It's really bad. Since it happened my legs stiffens up and I have to strap it up when it gets really bad. I'm very grateful for the treatment I got at St George's but not to the man who treated me at Croydon."

Man who claimed he was waving novelty rubber penis found guilty of indecent exposure - Update
A man who claimed he waved a novelty rubber penis at his neighbour has been found guilty of indecent exposure.
A jury at Bolton Crown Court took less than 45 minutes to decide that Eric Parton had exposed himself to his neighbour Alison Burdaky, in Harwood, Lancashire, in October last year.
Parton, who had claimed he was showing a novelty penis bought on holiday in Spain so his partner could see it on a CCTV monitor inside their home, will now be subject to a sexual offences prevention order for the next seven years.
He was also given a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and will have to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. Judge Clayson said: “In October last year you exposed your penis while walking round the back of your van, quite deliberately, in order to distress your female neighbour who was about to shut the curtains of the upstairs window.

"I’m not going to send you to prison immediately today but this certainly calls for a suspended sentence.” Parton, who denied indecent exposure, must also pay prosecution costs of £3,000 and was ordered to pay Mrs Burkaky compensation of £250.

Police called off search for 'stolen' flock of sheep after they were found sheltering in nearby wood
One hundred sheep worth around £10,000 which were thought to have been stolen have been found sheltering in a wood.

Police launched an investigation after the apparent "theft" was reported to them on October 10.
It was thought they had been stolen between September 26 and October 3 from fields around High Stenries farm at Waterbeck in Dumfries and Galloway.

However the farmer found the sheep sheltering in a nearby wood. The animals, Texel cross and Cheviot mule cross sheep, were safe and well.
