Plane crashes as man proposes ... but the lady still says yes

A teenager's plan for a sky-high romantic proposal to his school sweetheart stalled when the plane he had hired crashed.

Adam Sutton, 19, and his 18-year-old girlfriend Erika Brussee went for a joyride in a Cessna 172.

Pilot Bradley Gilbert circled low over the airfield, where relatives were holding a sheet with the message: "Erika, will you marry me?"

But as Sutton pulled out the engagement ring, and before Brussee had read the message, the plane stalled and crashed into the runway.

Miraculously they all survived and as Brussee was being loaded into an ambulance she said to Sutton's cousin, Joshua Willis: "Tell Adam I said yes."

Willis added: "They lost the ring, though. It's still in the wreckage."
