James Brown row ends in shooting

A man was shot by his friend following argument over the height of recently dead soul legend James Brown, police said.

According to Alabama authorities, Dan Gulley Jr., 70, has been charged with assault over the shooting of David James Brooks Jr., 62, on Monday.

The shooting occurred after the two men got into an increasingly heated argument about how tall James Brown was. Witnesses said that the disagreement escalated to the point where Gulley shot Brooks twice in the abdomen.

After being shot, Brooks went to his car and got a gun himself. He then shot at, but missed, Gulley. That plan not having worked, Brooks then went to the local police station to tell them that he'd been shot.

A few minutes later, according to police, Gulley walked into the same station and admitted shooting Brooks.

Incredibly, authorities did not believe alcohol was a factor.

In other James Brown related news, he still hasn't been buried yet.
