Couple attacked each other with frying pan

A Cumberland County couple were arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault last week after an argument between the two escalated into a tit-for-tat attack with a frying pan.

Cumberland County Sheriff's Deputy Timothy J. Tutor reported he responded to 677 Westel Loop May 7 for a possible domestic incident.

At the scene, Tutor reported talking to residents Heather Newcome and Samuel Newcome and both stated that one had struck the other with a frying pan. "Both parties had injuries consistent with both of their stories", the report reads.

Other family members from both sides also got involved in a melee on Westel Loop in front of the residence and several other alleged assaults occurred between the other family members. However, none of the other family members wished to seek warrants or pursue charges at the time of the police report. The two are scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court over the charges May 19.
