The Mount Everest region will this weekend see something it has never witnessed before, when 32 sky-divers start parachuting down in front of it.
They will start from an altitude higher than the mountain itself.
The event's British organiser says a dream he has nurtured for a decade is finally coming true.
Plans for the adventure travellers to begin jumping yesterday were delayed when thick cloud descended. The sky-dive is now due to start today.
The sky-divers, some solo and some attached to professionals, plan to freefall for a minute before opening their chutes for about eight minutes.
