A life-size statue of a homeless person travelled in style when it was allocated a £400 first class seat on a flight in to Heathrow.
The 6ft bronze was flown from Copenhagen on route to Cardiff where it will appear as part of a campaign to highlight the plight of those living on Europe's streets.
Airline bosses agreed it could travel with Danish artist Jens Galschiot on the 90-minute flight to Britain for an exhibition. But then airline staff realised the statue was too big to fit into economy class seats.
So they agreed to upgrade both the statue and Mr Glaschiot into first class for VIP treatment on the 600-mile flight with SAS Scandinavian Airlines.
The 58 year old artist, said: "We were both very grateful for the extra space. It was a very enjoyable journey. "Everyone in first class was talking about it - and even the captain made a little speech over the microphone to explain about the unusual passenger.
"The statue decided not have the champagne because it was too early in the morning!"
