Lady wants you to guess the weight of her gallstones

A charity fundraiser aims to turn pain into pounds by asking people to guess the weight of her gallstones. Childline worker Suzie Campbell-Kelly hit on the unique way to earn cash after being diagnosed with gallstones last year.

Suzie, who is waiting for an operation, will ask her surgeon to weigh them when they are removed.

Suzie, from Hulme, set herself the modest target of raising £60 for the East Cheshire Hospice in Macclesfield, which cared for her grandmother Margaret until she died of leukaemia in July 2007. But she soon smashed that barrier and is now targeting £1,000.

She said: "My immune system has been low and I've been feeling pretty bad, but I'm a Buddhist and thought `how can I turn this pain to my advantage?" "So I decided on a guess the weight of my gallstones competition.

"It's kind of like guess how many sweets at a school fair but with a twist.

"Some people have found the idea quite funny and some winced, but it's all for a good cause."
