Stag party guest invades greyhound race dressed as a horse

The prankster donned a cloth horse's head and invaded the track while a fellow partygoer filmed the stunt at Central Park Stadium in Sittingbourne, Kent.

He was wrestled to the ground by security guards just seconds before six hounds run past giving chase to the hare.

A spokesman for the stadium said it was the first time in 12 years anyone had invaded a race. He added: "We had someone getting on to the track and the police have been given the information.

"He was on a stag do, although most of the rest of his group had already left, and had a horse's head on. I think he must have been a bit worse for wear. It's dangerous for the dogs and those who have come in to help."

Kent Police said the incident was "bizarre", but officers were powerless to take action.

A spokesman said: "We were informed two or three days after the event. If we had attended at the time the man could have been arrested for being drunk and disorderly but because that didn't happen the footage is now not enough to show any crime being committed."
