Superman arrested, Batman released in New York

Here's video of how it took four police officers to subdue Man of Steel Maksim Katsnelson and render him super-powerless last week.

The female cop whom he's charged with assaulting ripped-from-the-comics melee, can be heard screaming "you're assaulting an f---ing officer!"

On the video, Katsnelson, who later spent the night in jail - in costume - yells back that she hit him. And that "I'm not going to be arrested."

The 23-year-old street-performer, who was dancing and playfighting with Batman in Times Square, New York, last Thursday was stopped by police for not having the necessary permits to amplify sound.

When Katsnelson argued with police officers, they tried to handcuff him and he tried to flee. He was charged with resisting arrest and assaulting an officer. Batman Frank Frisoli, 18, was also handcuffed, but was never arrested.

"Maksim never threw the first punch," Frisoli said. "He ran after they tried cuffing him and then seven cops tackled him and started punching him. That is when he started hitting back. It was all in self-defence."
