Chicken-assault charge to be dropped if teen obtains anger evaluation

A North Hampton teen charged with assaulting someone with a piece of chicken was ordered to obtain an anger management evaluation and remain of good behaviour for one year as part of a deal that will dismiss the charge if she complies.

Alecia Coleman, 19, of 22 Maple Road, appeared in Portsmouth District Court on Monday on a class A misdemeanor count of simple assault alleging she smeared a piece of chicken in the face of someone with whom she was arguing. As part of a plea agreement with police prosecutors, Coleman agreed to get the evaluation, to comply with any recommended treatment and to remain arrest-free for one year. If she complies, the misdemeanor will be dismissed,

Coleman was arrested on July 9 at the Stonecroft Apartments after police were called there for a domestic disturbance. An affidavit by Officer Charles Raizes alleges she assaulted the alleged victim by smearing a piece of chicken on her face.

The victim also attended Monday's court hearing and said she supported the plea deal. A no-contact order between the parties was dismissed by the court.
