The 74-year-old Nobel Peace Prize laureate said he was encouraged by growing solidarity and support Chinese people and intellectuals show for the Tibetan cause.
He spoke at a press conference in Switzerland where he is giving two days of public teachings on Buddhism.
The Dalai Lama said the international community should send investigators to Tibet for a thorough probe into the violent crackdown last year of Tibetan protests.
