Shane MacGowan with the Sharon Shannon Big Band

From what looks to have been a splendid evening, on the first of this month, at the World Fleadh Celtic Music Festival, staged at Castlebar, Co. Mayo, Ireland.

Here Shane makes his grand entrance, holding what appears to be a pint of gin, then performs perhaps his greatest ever rendition of The Irish Rover. I jest, but credit to him and his liver for surviving so long.

And here they perform Dirty Old Town, (written by the late Ewan MacColl, father of the late Kirsty MacColl, incidentally), though there's not enough Sharon in this video for my liking.

I *heart* Sharon Shannon.
