Scale-less fish found off Brazil

A group of researchers in Brazil made the catch of the day when they discovered a previously unknown species of fish.

The fish is believed to be the first of its kind spotted by humans, and was found off the coast of Bahia in the country's north earlier this week.

The 40-kilogram fish was found dead floating at the sea's surface.

Specialists said the fish measures more than 1.8 meters in length. It has small teeth and no scales.

Due to its large body fat content and gelatinous consistency, researchers believed it was not edible.
