Armed intruders with an apparent soft spot for babies stole electronics and money during a robbery at an Eastside home Friday morning.
Indianapolis police said somewhere between tying up and pistol-whipping the residents on the 6100 block of East 21st Street, the gunmen heated up a baby bottle and fed it to an infant, according to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Lt. Jeffrey Duhamell.
The robbery happened at 8 a.m. when two men, one with a shotgun and one with a handgun, forced their way into a home. They taped shut the mouths and hands of two residents and hit one of the head with a pistol.
To quiet a crying infant during the robbery, one of the robbers heated a bottle in the microwave and allowed a 14-year-old captive to feed the baby. The suspects stole a computer, TV, a computer-game console, cell phones and money.
