Theft suspect shocked and handcuffed himself

Sometimes, crime can be downright embarrassing. Ask Shane Thomas Williams-Allen of Orlando, who was arrested last week on multiple burglary and grand-theft counts and is suspected in many more.

Among other things, Lake County authorities say, Williams-Allen managed to accidentally jolt himself in the foot while stealing a police Taser and handcuff himself with stolen cuffs.

Williams-Allen's friends told authorities that Clermont police were summoned and freed him from the handcuffs. They did not arrest him.

The Taser and cuffs were taken from an unmarked Ocoee police car, the Sheriff's Office said, along with an expandable baton, a Glock handgun magazine, a digital camera and a digital recorder. Investigators in that theft tracked Williams-Allen, 19, to a Clermont apartment, where they found some stolen items but not Williams-Allen, records say.

Later, Lake County authorities arrested him in Casselberry — and took him to a McDonald's because he said he was hungry. "During the drive, the suspect asked if this was about the Taser incident," an arrest report says.

Williams-Allen faces charges including grand theft, burglary to a conveyance and armed burglary to a conveyance.
