A father tried to give his 11-year-old daughter a time-out, but she ended up getting charged with a misdemeanor.
At around 9:30 p.m. on March 24, the girl and her 7-year-old brother got into a fight over who got to sit in a certain chair, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. The father ended up escorting the girl to her room.
The man stood in the hallway watching her, making sure she wouldn’t try to run away out her bedroom window, the report said. The girl grabbed a toy gun and threw it, striking her father in the head and causing him to bleed from a laceration on his scalp.
The girl was charged with domestic battery and is due in juvenile court May 5.

11 year old and then taken to the cops by her own father???
...What's wrong with that guy?
He isn't fit to be a dad and he needs some serious education and help.
Foreigner, you don't know the full story, none of us do. Maybe she's one of those kids that can drive a parent insane by their disobedience, maybe Dad did this as a last resort, to shock her into listening and taking notice, maybe he felt he had no choice. I doubt he would have taken ANY pleasure in doing this at all. Bottom line, it's way better than him perhaps losing his rag completely and bashing her.
Okay- You have a point.
But where I live, in a case like this, even the cops will take the kid to childcare and parent-counseling way before they arrest it and drag her to court...
Nope. It's asinine. Not gonna pretend to know what's going on, but 11yr old daughters, cops, toy guns? Sounds like daddy needs to get a whuppin then travel back in time and hand a few out of his own = situation avoided.
Where do you think the 11 year old daughter learned that violence was an acceptable way to deal with anger?
