It only took a split second for Julio Aparicio to became the bull's bloody victim at a Madrid bullring.
The animal had already been pierced with several banderillas and was close to being killed when he seized his chance of revenge.
Aparicio stumbled and the angry beast charged at him, prompting the crowd at the Las Ventas bullring to gasp in horror - expecting the bull to rip off the fighter's jaw or even his head.

Remarkably, the beast stepped back and his horn slipped out of the matador's face as swiftly as it had entered. Aparicio fell to the ground in shock, with blood pouring from his gaping wound.
Ringside medics rushed him to hospital where leading surgeon Dr Maximo Garcia Pedros performed two operations which saved his life. The bull was not so fortunate - he was quickly dispatched by fellow matadors.

I really hope that guy will be seriously permanently damaged and I hope at least some of those happy onlookers will be traumatised for life by what they saw there...

I don't condone bull fighting in the least (or fox hunting etc...or anything that injures or kills animals for sport) but I certainly wouldn't want the matador to get hurt either.
I take it it is a cultural thing and being raised in it I can assume thats why he got into it.
This video is a great example of what not to do. I hate cruelty to animals, and this jerk got what he deserved. Here are a few other things 1) do not take a sleeping pill and a laxative before retiring for the evening. 2) don't fry bacon naked 3) do not hurt animals. they WILL PWN you.

Shouldn't that bull be allowed to fight another day? Seems like if it won the fight it should be allowed to heal and have a chance to gore the hell outta the next guy, too. Why did my mouth just water? Who mentioned steak? mmmmmmm steaaaaaaak. What were we talking about?
Yeah, that bull should have earned his freedom, he knew he was gonna die and went out goring. Maybe lil' matador wannabe kids will think twice before wanting to go into that "profession". It's good to show that there is inherent risk in injuring animals, and that sometimes you can't be saved by your greasy hair and flamboyant jacket. Who's gonna want to sleep with the matador that almost got brain kebobbed? Well, there are lotsa twisted people out there....

My thoughts aswell steve… Thought i might not agree with these games also, i find it harsh (and perhaps encroaching on sick ) that people are not just cheering this but enjoying the mutilation of another human being :S

Ironically, the matador ends up on the receiving end for a change. Poetic justice in this barbaric 'sport'.
