Boy rescued after 20 hours trapped in underground pipe

A seven-year-old young Chinese boy was cut free from a 30cm-wide industrial tube after being trapped underground for over 20 hours.

The seven-year-old fell into the tube, which had been inserted into the ground to act as a well.

Rescue workers tried to pull the child up from where he was lodged several metres deep but the boy's arm was trapped and he was unable to grasp the rope.

Eventually they excavated the earth around the tube and used a crane to pull the entire section out of the ground.

He was finally pulled free from the tube around 20 hours after first becoming trapped.

Health checks showed that the boy had grazes on his legs and hands, but he was otherwise in good health.

You'd think that, since they're only allowed to have one kid, they'd take care of them better.  But no... they let them play in construction sites near open wells.
