Man attacks pop machine with hatchet, saying someone was inside

Police arrested a 47-year-old homeless Idaho man after they say he attacked a pop machine with a hatchet.

Officials say officers responded to a motel on Boise's Broadway Avenue Sunday night after receiving a report that a man had a hatchet.



Police say Chris Collins, 47, started attacking the pop machine because he believed someone was trapped inside. Police were able to go into Collin's room and found meth inside.

He was charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia and malicious injury to property.
