Man robs bank with towel over his head

Federal agents say a man walked into a southwest Houston bank with a suspicious appearance and confirmed the tellers' suspicions when he robbed the bank.

The robbery took place on Thursday afternoon at the Prosperity Bank branch on Westheimer Road near Fondren Road.

The suspect entered the bank wearing a towel over his head, a baseball-style cap over the towel and sunglasses.

After the suspect approached a teller and handed a note demanding money, the teller cooperated with the robber and gave him cash. Witnesses told authorities the robbery suspect ran away from the bank on foot, according to a statement released by the FBI Houston Bank Robbery Task Force.
