'Weeping statue' draws crowd in California

Thousands of people from across the country have flocked to a home north of Los Angeles to get a glimpse of what some say is a miracle.

The homeowner claims a statue started "weeping" July 19th while she was praying, and it continued to shine and feel oily for nine days. Some observers claim they've seen the statue's fingers move.

Rosie Rizo of Los Angeles and Micha Abounassar of Glendale say it's brought people together. "What I see is people filled with hope. I think there's a lot of families asking for help in different aspects of their life and pray for a better today and a better tomorrow," said Rizo.

"It's a blessing. It's a strong bond that unites us all. No matter who we are, where we are. You know, where we come from. We're all the same," said Abounassar. Representatives from the Armenian community and Catholic Church haven't declared this a miracle, but they do say it's brought neighbours together in prayer.
