Suspected iPhone thief caught due to "I’m Me" tattoo on forehead

Police arrested a man wanted in a string of iPhone thefts. The man was apprehended due to the unusual clue tattooed across his forehead. Detectives say 19-year-old Joseph Williams was so proud of himself that he tattooed the words “I’m Me” on his face.

This identifying mark helped authorities identify the suspect in at least four theft cases in Tamarac and Deerfield Beach. He’s also suspected in at least 15 other cases in across three counties in South Florida.

According to police he would enter an AT&T store and locate the iPhone display. Then he would unplug one or two phones from the cables which secured them to the display and flee the store. Each of the phones retail for nearly $600 so each crime is considered a separate grand theft.

In addition to the “I’m Me” tattoo Williams also has a money bag and tear drop inked on his face. A Crime Stoppers tip alerted police to his whereabouts in Miami Gardens. He is now facing four counts of grand theft with possible additional charges forthcoming.
