Prisoners unhappy about sex offenders washing their underpants

Prisoners have gone on strike in protest at sex offenders doing their laundry. Around 500 lags at HMP Glenochil refused to attend work or classes yesterday after perverts were allowed to handle their underwear.

Instead they stayed in their cells after breakfast. And at lunchtime, warders were forced to serve up the food themselves and clear away afterwards. The sex offenders were recently moved to the Clackmannanshire prison from Peterhead prison, Aberdeenshire.

But the decision sparked fury when some inmates were switched from their cushy laundry jobs to make way for the sex offenders. A source said: "None of the ordinary prisoners were keen on the monsters handling their washing.

At first they thought they'd make their point by boycotting the laundry but it didn't work. So the guys decided to stage a protest strike." A Scottish Prison Service spokesman said: "This matter is being dealt with by the governor and his staff."
