Surprising update on dog that survived euthanasia

When Mia, a elderly Rottweiler, was discovered alive the morning after she was euthanised, she shocked her owners. When people across the world heard of her miraculous survival, they were stunned as well. Mia's owners had taken her to a veterinarian because she was suffering from partial paralysis and pain in her legs. The veterinarian advised that she be euthanised. After the failed euthanasia attempt, her owners found a new veterinarian.

Though they were happy that their beloved dog was still alive, they were heart-broken that whatever she was suffering from might require her to go through a second euthanasia attempt. A nightmare scenaria for any dog-owner. But an outpouring of love, concern and funds came to the special dog - the extra funds allowed for expensive diagnostics that were otherwise impossible for the family.



Mia's owners have shared the results. Not only has Mia suffered no ill-effects from the botched euthanasia, but a recent X-ray revealed that she does not have a tumour, nor does she have a ruptured disc in her spine. Suspicions of cancer have been laid to rest. Mia does have some arthritis in her hips (pretty typical for a large breed, senior dog), but otherwise, she is amazingly healthy.

There is more to Mia's story. Her owner fell on hard times. Between a loss of income, providing for young children, and being forced to move into an apartment that does not allow dogs, the difficult decision to rehome Mia was made. The upside is that a loving family has already been secured for Mia. Her current owners will still be able to see her on occasion and they feel that her new home will be wonderful for her. Though they are sad to let her go, they feel that it was best for her and a sacrifice that was necessary for their situation.
