Japanese man died of carbon monoxide poisoning queuing for petrol

A man has died of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning after trying to keep warm in his car with a kerosene heater while lining up at a petrol station, police said.

Shortly after 11 a.m. on March 18, a resident of Oshu, Iwate Prefecture, in his 50s was found unconscious in one of the cars lining up in front of a petrol station in the city. The man was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A kerosene heater was found placed inside the victim's car, leading police to suspect the man died of carbon monoxide poisoning. His vehicle was turned off.

His car was located around the middle of the one-kilometre-long line of cars in front of the petrol station at the time of the incident.

I'd prefer not to read about this tragic death just after about the dangling jerk in New Amsterdam, thank you.

Fair enough, Anon. We all have our preferences. One of mine is not to read unjustified grousing.

This blog describes itself as a "mish-mash" right up there at the top of the page. A reasonable person might expect the occasional unhappy juxtaposition.
