Shop staff admitted the error but still made Carine pay for the goods she was buying while the scooter was being sold. She said: “We went in as normal and left the little scooter outside, which costs about £50, but when we came out there was no scooter.
“The lady looked a bit worried and said to us - ‘I think I made a mistake’. They said they were sorry but there was nothing they could do to help me out. I went around town looking for it but I couldn’t see anyone walking about with a scooter.”
A poster has been put in the shop asking for the scooter to be returned for a refund and Carine is also appealing to whoever purchased it to bring it back. She said: “I just don’t really know what to do now, I hope the person who bought it will see the mistake and bring it back.”

I was at an estate sale with my mother some years back where she lost her watch - It had fallen off and she didn't notice until we were out the door. When we went looking for it a fellow had just paid $5 for it at the check out table. He didn't want to give it up even when he was offered a refund. Couldn't blame him--it was a nice watch.
So you did get it back?
The charity shop should have to reimburse them for the cost of the scooter. The thing was outside. Are there many charity shops who keep their goods outside?
From the look of that picture, it does look like some things were outside.
Still... didn't the clerk clue in when there was no price tag on the scooter?
Maybe the child will learn not to leave his toys in public ... pity the mother didn't.
Had someone fallen over it would she have said "Sue me not the charity"?
He probably left it outside because he wasn't allowed to bring it inside. Some shops are kind of strict about that sort of thing.
