Cat gets itself into a bit of a pickle

I don't know what it was trying to reach.

How are those people keeping the cat there, how are they preventing its escape?

I felt bad for the cat until it landed on the ground - and then got back up on that barrel! No one was picking it up and making it jump again.

good lord...the only way out the cat can see is the opening above...these russians cook the cat... but terrorise it first

I am really starting to hate humans

So, william, please tell us what you would have done in that situation.

i'd let the puddy tat out, nothing more : it's clear the animal does not wish to stay "there"
i'm hating humans more & more too, the way we treat animals - they're only here as food or for our leisure/fun

kolymatram, how exactly would you let it out? Would you try to catch it and carry it? I'm sure it would just love that. Or do you know something extra about the layout of that room and building that is not apparent in the video? Is there a door leading outside in there? Is it quick and easy to open in that situation? Do tell, I'm curious.

ooh dear : if the stupid people got in & filmed it & got out to put the vid on the interwebs... there should be a door, no ????
just open a door, puddy tats are clever enough to use it.
you are indeed the clever one, Inso. Always. Eternally. (well, on this site, at least)

Outside, as in open sky and trees outside, that's clearly where the cat wanted to go. Would the panicking cat be smart enough to realise a door leading deeper into the house would ultimately let it out? And by the way, how do you know the door the people used was not open?

I do appreciate the compliments, though.

you don't own a cat, clearly
i do, couple of 'em, over 23 years now & i've seen 'em react in many ways, all of 'em over the years & one thing's clear : when there's a door (or it's open) : a cat will never ever jump twice in water
this one's clearly panicking

but no, i'm wrong & you're right. as usual.
otherwise, do send me a link of just one of your comments on this site, ever, where you admit being mistaken...
wishful thinking, course

come to think of it : even my avatar is one of my fav puddys
pôor thing died couple of years back
(and never ever jumped twice in the same water)

but hey - i must be wrong there

Since you own a cat, you always know exactly what happened, as long as there was a cat involved? Cat owners have superpowers, do they?

00:15 in the video you can see an open door, which the cat chooses not to use. Care to explain why, oh Catwhisperer?

PS. I will admit being wrong when shown wrong. In this case the burden of proof is on those who claim this was a case of animal abuse where a cat was purposefully prevented from leaving the room. I am just saying that's not clear from the video at all. I am one of those closeminded people who need evidence before making judgements.

Arian. They were never ever wrong too (either)
wait ! "wouldn't like to be one of your pets", no right to any own opinion - "just asks Inso, he knows best, always"
:-D

Wow, this got aggro very quickly. I've had lots of cats over the years and I would have just assumed that just maybe this cat was trying to get at something...? Not trying to escape, but hey, maybe there was a squirrel up there or something?

Easy on the catnip, kolymatram.

no no, belgian beers
i grew up on those
(& the door at 15" looks like a shed or so, dark place, no zscape plan involved)
