51-year-old New Castle man, John R. Dicken, was arrested outside the home of a female acquaintance early on Sunday evening, accused, among other things, of trying to make off with the woman's dentures.
City patrolman Justin R. Wardlow reported officers were sent to the alleged victim's home at about 6:45 p.m. and arrived to find Dicken outside. His accuser said Dicken had "grabbed her by the face and attempted to rip out her false teeth prior to officers arriving," Wardlow wrote.
Dicken was apparently less than cooperative with the officers who took him into custody. On Monday, he was charged with four misdemeanors: battery resulting in bodily injury, resisting law enforcement, public intoxication and possession of paraphernalia.
He was also charged with possession of marijuana, a Class D felony carrying a standard 18-month prison term..Dicken, being held in the Henry County jail under a $14,350 bond, appeared in Henry Circuit Court on Monday, and received a May 12 trial date.
