Firefighters called to help rescue injured pigeon from tree

Firefighters have been called to help rescue an injured pigeon from a tree in Hethersett, Norfolk.

The RSPCA contacted Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service to request assistance after the injured bird was discovered trapped in a tree at Glengarry Road, Hethersett, just before 9.10am yesterday.

A spokesman said an officer went and made an assessment and it was decided an aerial ladder platform was needed.

He added the ALP came over from Great Yarmouth at road speed and under instruction to remain available for any other priority incidents the whole time.

Seriously, firefighting services tied up by a pigeon? I called the RSPCA about an injured pigeon the other day and they basically said "if we come to collect it we'll put it down - leave it where it is".
How much do you want to bet that after all this fuss, the pigeon was euthanised?

A shotgun would sort out that flying rat.
