Mermaid attacked during pram race

Sussex police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a woman who was dressed as a mermaid and taking part in Hastings Old Town pram race.

The 22-year-old victim was hit on the head from behind with an unknown object in All Saints Street, Old Town, Hastings, at 9.30pm on Wednesday 1 August.



She suffered concussion and was treated by her own GP. Sergeant Che Donald said: "The victim has stated that there were other groups of people in the area at the time of the assault.

"It is thought that perhaps the group dressed as dalmatians, crayons and a bearded lady may have witnessed this incident."
