A man is to stand trial charged with squirting drivers passing through a Stirlingshire village with water from a garden hose.
Darren Fotheringham is alleged to have let loose with the hose as temperatures soared on one of the hotter days of the summer in Cowie on 27 May this year.
At Stirling Sheriff Court the 23-year-old denied reckless conduct. He is accused of "culpably and recklessly aimed a water hose into the faces of passing motorists".
The charge alleges that two drivers in particular, named as Robert Piper and Amy Skelton, were endangered and that Mr Fotheringham's actions resulted in a collision between Ms Skelton's car and Mr Piper's, in which both their vehicles were damaged and Mr Piper suffered minor injuries. Sheriff Wyllie Robertson continued the case for trial until 1 October.
