Dislike of Alanis Morissette music caused man to hit boyfriend in face with plate

A Florida man admitted to police that he assaulted his live-in boyfriend because the victim only listened to music by Alanis Morissette.

"That's all the mother f*cker listens to," Allen Casey, 24, told sheriff's deputies on Sunday night in the Jacksonville home he shares with Todd Fletcher, 33. Fletcher told investigators that Casey hit him in the face with a plate.

Bleeding from a large cut, Fletcher "stated that he was listening to Alanis Morissette and his boyfriend didn't like it, so the suspect hit the victim in the face," according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report.

When deputies questioned Casey, he said he acted on his displeasure about Fletcher's taste in music and reportedly admitted, "I hit him in the face." Casey was arrested for felony domestic battery and booked into the county jail, where he is being held in lieu of $25,000 bond. The sheriff's report notes that the men are involved in a "homosexual relationship" and both were using "amphetamines / methamphetamines."

Though I in no way condone this, he's lucky he wasn't hit with a shovel.

Presumably Mr Fletcher has now learned only to live with somebody who is emotionally mature.
