Korean man discovers that hot oil and water don't really mix well

This gentleman was demonstrating how to fry rice cakes in a pot of boiling oil on Afreeca TV, an internet-based TV channel.

    I'd be curious about why he had the assault rifles and shovel stuck into the handle of the stove/oven.
    If the oven was turned on I would tend to think if the oven was on and if the rifles were loaded then exploding rice cake would be the least of his problems...
