Man cut out tongue to repent at bad things he'd said to estranged wife

An Indian man cut out his tongue after his wife left him allegedly due to his abusive and insulting words against her.

Bunty Verma, 32, a TV mechanic of Khalwadi area of Sendhwa, cut his tongue on Tuesday afternoon after writing a letter addressed to his wife Hema. He was admitted to government civil hospital of Sendhwa and later referred to Indore. Block medical officer Dr JP Pandit said that matter had been informed to city police of Sendhwa.

Bunty mentioned in the letter that due to his abusive and insulting words his wife Hema, along with their daughter, left him on the eve of Raksha Bandhan and didn’t come back. He also wrote that his bad tongue (words) was responsible for it and in repentance he was cutting it. He urged his wife to forgive him.

His friends Aslam and Sultan said that Bunty and Hema had a love marriage as his first wife left him few years back. They said that for the past fortnight Bunty has been telling everybody that he would remove his bad tongue. He even wanted live demonstration in front of media for the sake of his repentance.
