Underpants-clad robbed lorry driver clung onto roof of thieves' van for a mile

A half-naked delivery man desperately clung to the roof of a thieves’ van for a mile, after he spotted them raiding his parked lorry. The Pole, who was making his way through France to England with a cargo of shoes, saw the two men from his hotel window.

Without stopping to put his trousers on, he dashed through the building and clambered on to the roof of their loot-filled van just as they drove off in the suburb of Villemomble, in Paris. In his pants, socks and top, he held on for a mile until they stopped at lights,



But when the van stopped at a red light, the half-dressed man leapt down and grabbed the driver through the window. The passenger fled. A police spokesman said: “He was delivering a cargo of shoes to England.

"He set off to catch them without getting fully dressed and after almost two kilometres on the van’s roof, he managed to leap down and grab one of the men He held him until police arrived and managed to recover his goods.” The suspected thief will face magistrates this week.
