I can understand that if they were some colourful, faded and highly delicate work of art (the light and flash photography ruins lots of stuff) but.. teeth?

The Pitt Rivers museum here has cloaks made out of bird feathers and if you want to view them, you have to pull a curtain aside, in order to avoid bleaching them with the ambient light.

Yes, quite a lot of museums have flash photography bans for the reasons you stated.

I'm not sure how the dentures would be affected.
