Sickened lady wages war on piles of dog poo

A Derbyshire woman is waging war against irresponsible dog owners who do not clean up their pets’ mess. Josephine Mahon of Shipley View says she is ‘sickened’ by the piles of dog poo which she and neighbours find on their pavements every day and has resorted to putting up posters to solve the problem.

The retired mother-of-one said she and fellow neighbours had been clearing up the unwanted muck for the last six months. She added: “We’ve had this problem before and decided we had to stop it, so we put posters up telling people to clean up after themselves. I have three dogs and my neighbour has two - we’re not only cleaning up after our own dogs’ mess but everybody else’s.”

Sixty-seven-year-old Josephine said she had even trodden the mess into her home from her front garden. “These people are totally irresponsible - there are children running up and down the grass verges from the nursery over the road,” she said. “If they get it on their hands they’re in danger of going blind.”

Another Shipley View resident, who asked not to be named, said: “I have never liked the sight of dog mess and while walking down to the Co-op I realised I was avoiding piles of the stuff. The area around Shipley View estate is a dog’s toilet, I counted seven piles one day. I know the dogs are not to blame, it’s the irresponsible owners who have no pride in their locality and environment, not to mention the danger to children.”

Manky bastards. Ban dogs! Horrible smelly, noisy, slobbery, flea-ridden, bitey things. A whole species that's obsessed with each others' (and anything else's) faeces! That's just NOT normal.

I'm glad she decided to show us a close-up of the dog shit. Because I don't know what it looks like.

Put bacon drippings on the dog feces - the next dog to pass by will happily devour it. It will not hurt the dog; but its breath my smell like dog sh*t.

Drench a few piles, and the dog owners my clean up after their pests.

I am unacquainted with the old wives' tale that says children will go blind if they touch dog poop. Is that an English thing?

Dog faeces can carry roundworm parasites, Barbwire, which in turn can cause toxocariasis.

In it's worst state this can cause blindness.
