Man disguised as clown tried to break into home

A man disguised as a clown tried to break into a Madison County, Tennessee home early on Tuesday morning, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. “He had the face painted a white colour and some circles dark around,” said the woman who lives at the house.

The woman said a man tried to break into her house at around 4:30am “They stated that the individual was dressed in a clown suit,” said Madison County Sheriff David Woolfork. Neighbours said they did not see anything. “I guess it's better than a ski and mask, but that's pretty odd isn't it,” said Russell Korshak, a neighbour.

Investigators said the suspect did not get in and did not take anything. Sheriff Woolfork confirms they are looking for a white man. “We would just caution the general public if you see someone dressed like a clown they could very well be up to burglarizing your home or committing some other crime,” said Woolfork.

The woman at the house said the clown getup is no laughing matter. “Some people lose their minds,” she said. “You don't know what is going on in their minds and you have to pay attention.” The woman who lives at the home wants deputies to step-up patrols in the area and take the attempted break-in seriously.
