Cyclist knocked into river by elderly lady on mobility scooter in hit and run incident

An elderly woman driving a mobility scooter has crashed into a cyclist, knocking him into the River Orwell.

The crash happened at around 3pm in Ranelagh Road, Ipswich, on Monday.



The male cyclist sustained a cut to his back and pain to his torso.

The driver of the scooter, who failed to stop, is described as a woman, aged between 70 to 80-years-old, with ‘mousey’ coloured hair and was driving a red scooter with thick wheels. Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
