Family called police after finding ferret in their toilet

A Ukrainian family called local police for help after a ferret crawled out of their toilet.



Head of Illichivsk City Emergencies Service Alexei Kobylnikov said: "We took rescuers right away, went to the place where the call was made, and it was indeed a ferret".

A young brother and sister were in the apartment bathroom when their new furry friend made an appearance. "Suddenly we saw something crawling out of the toilet. We both got scared. Mum came running, grabbed us, and closed the door," six-year-old Zinaida Parfenteva said.

It is still unclear how the ferret ended up in the local sewer system, and how it made its way up building pipes into a residential bathroom.
