Trail of curly fries led to groping suspect

A Georgia man was arrested a day after groping a woman as she served him at the drive-through window of a restaurant in East Lampeter Township, Pennsylvania, police said.

James Randolph Cowan Jr., 36, of Fitzgerald, Ga., ordered food shortly after 8pm on Wednesday at Arby's on Lincoln Highway East, said Lt. Robin Weaver. When a 19-year-old employee handed the order out the window, Cowan reached in and groped her before quickly driving away.

Employees reported that Cowan appeared intoxicated, Weaver said. Police located the suspect's vehicle, a Toyota 4 Runner, at a Travelodge, also on Lincoln Highway East, and found Cowan in one of the rooms.

A trail of Arby's curly fries and sauce was found leading from Cowan's vehicle through a hallway to his room, Weaver said. Police charged Cowan with indecent assault and obtained a warrant for his arrest. They took him into custody on Thursday. He was arraigned and released on $10,000 bail.
