Drunk twin brothers stopped by the police in separate driving incidents two hours apart

According to the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's office in Indiana, 27-year-old twin brothers clashed with Evansville Police last Saturday. Police reports says Logan Bates was driving dangerously and had two beers cans in plain sight when police caught up with him.

He was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence. Two hours later his twin brother Trevor Bates was cited after witnesses say he was driving a lawn mower while intoxicated with his daughter sat on his lap and a 50-year-old woman on the lawnmower’s deck.

Witnesses reported that Trevor Bates appeared intoxicated and nearly fell from the mower several times. They also reported the mower was nearly hit by traffic because it was swerving into the roadway. An Evansville Police officer found the three people stopped on the sidewalk and off the mower.

Trevor Bates had a reported BAC of 0.445 percent, which is more than five times the legal limit. He was not arrested because when police arrived, he was not driving the lawn mower. Police issued a summons for him to appear in court for a public intoxication charge. The child was released to Bates’ mother. Logan Bates was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail.
